Disney has no plans for Indiana Jones movie

During a phone call with investors, Robert Iger noted that Disney had no plans to produce additional Indiana Jones films due to distribution issues with Paramount.  Unlike Star Wars, which has no current distribution deals in place, Paramount seems to have a lock on future Indiana Jones movies.

According to Iger, the company placed no value in the Indiana Jones franchise when it purchase LucasFilms due to the property’s entanglement with Paramount.  However, fans can still visit the Indiana Jones Stunt Show Spectacular, which is still running at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park.

Basically, Paramount owns all the movie rights, Disney owns all the other franchising rights. BEST OF BOTH WORLDS IN MY OPINION <3 If I’m understanding it correctly, that means Disney won’t be getting in the way of Spielberg, Ford, and Lucas doing their schtick, because it is their schtick, and Disney will maybe give us some awesome park rides and better merchandising.
Although I doubt it, given the line,
the company placed no value in the Indiana Jones franchise when it purchase LucasFilms
Whatever, means in a couple years when I’m in the theming business I can design an Indiana Jones ride from the ground up.
