Actually I’d only be an Indiana Jones fan, but mysteries were foundational to my early childhood. That being said the entire point of the first RDJ/Jude Law Sherlock Holmes is that it is not mysterious magic superpower sciencefiction steampunk. The politicians are trying to trick people into THINKING it is, but Holmes figures it out. It’s just science and sleight of hand.
