So I’ve seen a couple posts about tumblr grammar lately and I was thinking the other day about how I said “I accidentally LokiBifrost” and somehow that makes sense and I was thinking about Winnie the Pooh yesterday and how he says “I’m going to have a think.”
Lakota Charm, a small online jewelry business run by a disabled Lakota woman and her husband, is applying for a $250,000 grant from Chase Bank to open up a physical location and expand their operations to offer a wider selection of fashion from both the artists at Lakota Charm, as well as other contracted indigenous artists. The couple that run Lakota Charm are really great people and talented artists, and 10% of the proceeds of all sales of their gorgeous jewelry goes towards children’s programs on the Pine Ridge reservation.
support indigenous designers and follow the instructions on the link to vote for Lakota Charm! they need at least 250 votes to be eligible, but the more the better!
Reblogging this again because:
indigenous businesses and livelihoods are beyond important

YES WE NEED TO MAKE PLANS BEFORE I MOVE BACK TO SCHOOL. Anything particularly interesting to do out there?
Emma Stone:But people do always ask that. They ask who is my style icon, what's the one thing that I can't leave my house without. I'm always like, "My clothes!" I can pretty much leave without anything. It's fine as long as I'm not naked.
Andrew Garfield:I don't get asked that—
Emma Stone:You get asked interesting, poignant questions because you are a boy.
Dear Everyone Who Is Saying Prometheus is Terrible Scifi
You are missing the point. This is not a movie about traveling to Tattooine to take soil samples, or catch teenage Spock samples for dissection. (Although you do get a bonus-free alien dissection-abortion because hey, horror film. Plus, gotta haz dat birth imagery!)
This is a movie about human curiosity. This is a movie about exploration and facing the unknown, and what that does to people. To the hardened minds of science. We have people who are in it for the money, and people who want answers, and people who just want to have a family, and people who just want to fly some bigass machinery around, and machinery who just wants to be human but is literally Human Curiosity Without Bias, unfortunately in this case the bias of being human means taking into consideration that you might be about to fucking kill some people.
Also, I am wondering why everyone demands a solid ending to things these days. Half the fun in movies like this, and Inception, and so forth, is creating it yourself. Being stuck wondering, and thinking it over and over and over again until you have three hundred thousand million hellaion possibilities. Because that is human creativity. I don’t want people to feed me answers, I want to solve a puzzle!
…If I ever make movies, I will piss a lot of people off.
/this rant brought to you by the engineer (not Engineer) on my facebook who is currently missing the entire point of the movie and called it “entirely contrived”. YOU MEAN IT’S NOT NONFICTION? WELL I NEVER.
